Telegram #30
"This issue of Telegram is about tangibility and missing pieces... summertime in Seattle, nostalgia...trauma and growing up in poverty, unfun criticism of middle-class white cis feminists, found magical objects, Weirdo Parlour, crying in public... boundries, allyship as process and not identity..." and much more.

Skinned Heart Cinco
A small issue dealing with dark mania and rapid cycling, trying to remember the path out of the self-destructive feelings.

Skinned Heart Numero Seis
This issue is about her relationship with her dad, the similarities and difference between them, and how her life has been influenced by his drug addiction and his on again off again incarceration. It includes a critique of racism and the prison industrial complex and who is legitimized in activist circles as "political prisoners" when every imprisonment is political. Reflections on how, despite the racism, sexism and homophobia that exists in punk, punk and anarchism have provided a way in to finding connection to other radical people of color, and other people who work on developing politicized language and action around racism.

The Day I Stopped Being Punk!!
Heavily illustrated story about loving punk like a religion for many years, but trying to find a scene that had girls, queers and people of color in it. Leaving Toronto, finding glimpses of hope in NYC and LA, but ending up back in Toronto where she gets so sick of the outright racism and realizes punk is not a philosophy but just a subcultre that parallels mainstream society.

Cheer the Eff Up #6
another installment of this zine I love. This one talks about feeling indifferent to creating a family, class analysis and the American Dream, not feeling grown up, and then his partner getting pregnant and going through a miscarrage. "Misscarrage is one of those topics that so many people have experienced, but almost no one talks about." Jonas talks about the emotions of shock and emptiness and anger.
also continuation of his ongoing stories of weirdo/punk friendships with all our favorite characters all up to good and no good.

Sticking Around #1
In a world which tells us we should be getting out there - either subculturally, like we should be traveling, or capitalistically, like we should be getting out of our home towns and getting ahead in life, this zine is about being happy where you are and sticking around.
"Now that I'm happy, I want to stay put and do things I was afraid to do before because of my insecurities..."

Sticking Around #2
Stories from life: taking a risk and recording herself singing and playing ukulele, her house buring down, her friend getting in a bike wreck and falling into a month long coma. Somehow making it through it all.

Sticking Around #3
I love how each issue builds on the past and creates a map of growth. In this issue, Katie starts playing shows, even though it's scary. Plus stories about the way music can connect and validate.

Our Guts Are Graveyards #1
Scary story about getting a lot of scary physical symptoms and ending at the E.R. with Meningoencephalitis and then something else they can't figure out. Feeling like the body is betraying her as new symptoms arise and she's diagnosed with Crohns Disease. Struggling with body hate and fear and the constant emotional and financial strain and trying to find a path back into life; booking shows, making flyers, volunteering, writing this zine.

The Barf Zine and so much more
A thick compelation zine of interviews and stories about eating issues, body image, how they effect different aspects of life, healing and survival.
5 stories or interviews including dealing with things like how "being a fat woman with an eating disorder is essentailly to live in an invisible world," running addiction, how eating disorders effect intimate relationships, fundamentalism, femininity and self-hate, "communities of support that appreciate all body types and speak up when fols say fucked up things."
Plus a really beautiful story by my friend Rachel Lee about shame, racism, dissociation, self-mutilation and her path of healing.

Trash Heap #3
Hitchiking, traveling and trainhopping, challenging steriotypical masculinity, wanting to be less shy more connected, being an ex-christian, traveling in Alaska. Funny, serious, and sweet.

This next section is a bunch of pamplets I found in the student psychological service waiting room. They're not really zines and they've geared toward students, but they are actually pretty good.
